Food Beyond Eating

The New York Times has this interesting article today about the role food plays in deciphering history.

Oh my God i love old cookbooks. I collect those too. I have all my grandparents cookbooks and my great grandmothers. There is a depression era cookbook that has recipes for turtles and frogs..and not fancy recipes. Plus there are all these handwritten notes in them. I got a huge number of the free little cookbooks that come with appliances...like blenders and mixers, etc. that my grandparents saved from the 1930s and 1940s. They are totally cool. Great article.
